EpiTapp® app based on the author’s technique of hand tapping (Patent RF №2606489 from 10.01.2017, trademark (service mark) № 811379 from May 18, 2021). Intended for the relief (stopping) of an incipient epileptic seizure. App works by tapping your finger on the smartphone screen for 1-3 minutes, synchronously with the supply of exogenous rhythmic stimulation in a given individual rhythm.

EpiTapp ® app is recommended to use during focal seizures in patients with epilepsy to prevent secondary bilateral synchronization of epileptiform activity and focal seizures transformation without impaired consciousness and with partial impaired consciousness into bilateral tonic-clonic seizures.

Patients can independently use the EpiTapp ® app on their own mobile device (at home, at work, in recreation areas, etc.) as an element of palliative therapy for epilepsy.

Who can use the EpiTapp ® app?

Adult patients with epilepsy with the presence of epileptic seizures with the consciousness preservation at the stage of the onset of the seizure and / or throughout the seizure.

What needed to start using the EpiTapp ® app?

  1. Download the EpiTapp ® app to a personal mobile device (smartphone, tablet);

  2. Pass an introductory test to select an individual mode of operation of the app;

  3. Use the app for every epileptic seizure.

Regular EpiTapp ® app using:

  1. Improves the quality of life of a patient with epilepsy by reducing the severity and duration of epileptic seizures;

  2. Reduces the risk of injury to patients with epilepsy, preventing the development of generalized epileptic seizure;

Why the EpiTapp ® app is effective?

According to researches using coherent, power and spectral analysis of electroencephalography, at the usage moment of EpiTapp ®app in patients with epilepsy, activation of areas of the cerebral cortex that exercise antiepileptic control occurs. Using the EpiTapp ® app at the time of the onset of an epileptic seizure helps to reduce the synchronization of cortical rhythmics, which allows to block and prevents the spread of an epileptic discharge.

Using EpiTapp ® app does not assume cancellation and/or correction of antiepileptic therapy, but it can significantly improve the quality of life of a patient with epilepsy.
